If you are India users then you didn't get any MIUI 12 update because in india region Xiaomi didn't push MIUI 12 update for Xiaomi Redmi 6 or Redmi 6A but in China Region, MIUI 12 already push there, Today I will talking about How can you install MIUI 12 china Rom in Redmi 6.
Before installation MIUI 12 !
Firstly you have to Unlock Your Bootloader and after that you can able to flash Xiaomi Fastboot rom for Redmi 6 base on MIUI 12.

How to install MIUI 12
Firstly download the fastboot rom from down below & install Xiaomi Flash Tool and also driver should be installed in your laptop/pc.
Now Turn off your phone, Press & hold Power + Down button same time,
After some time your phone will be in fastboot mode.
Then extract the fastboot rom & keep it on Local Disk C,,
After that Copy that file location & open Mi Flash Tool.
Now connect with data cable & past here that location file.
You click on the refresh & Choose flash & Unlock....
Then click the flash options.... Flashing started,
Wait 5 minutes aflter flashing phone will be reboot into MIUI 11 to MIUI 12.
