What is Bootloader Unlocking ?

Bootloader unlocking is the process of unlocking the bootloader of a smartphone, tablet, or other mobile device. The bootloader is the software program that runs when the device is turned on and is responsible for loading the operating system (OS) and other firmware components.

When a device's bootloader is locked, it prevents users from installing custom firmware, such as custom ROMs, kernels, and recovery images. This is done to protect the device's security and prevent users from potentially damaging the device by installing unstable or untested software.

However, some users may want to unlock the bootloader so that they can install custom firmware and modify their device in various ways. Bootloader unlocking typically involves entering a code or running a command that unlocks the bootloader, allowing the user to install custom firmware.

It's important to note that unlocking the bootloader may void the device's warranty and may also make the device less secure. Additionally, some manufacturers may not allow users to unlock the bootloader on certain devices.

How to Unlock Bootloader ?

To unlock the bootloader on a XIAOMI device, you will need to follow these steps:

First, go to the official XIAOMI Unlock page (tool link given down below) and create a Mi account or log in if you already have one.

On the same page, click on the "Unlock Now" button and then fill out the application form with your details, including your device's IMEI number, device name, and reason for unlocking.

Once you submit the application, you will receive a confirmation SMS on your phone within a few days.

After receiving the confirmation SMS, download and install the Mi Unlock Tool on your computer (download link given down below).

Enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking on your XIAOMI device by going to "Settings" > "About phone" > "MIUI version" and tapping on it seven times. This will enable Developer Options. Then, go to "Settings" > "Additional settings" > "Developer options" and turn on "USB Debugging" and "OEM unlocking."

Turn off your XIAOMI device and boot it into fastboot mode by pressing and holding the "Volume Down" and "Power" buttons simultaneously.

Connect your XIAOMI device to your computer using a USB cable.
